The Foster School of Business has an outstanding opportunity open for a Temporary Graphic Designer(Media Production Specialist). The Graphic Designer (Media Production Specialist) position is designed to create video and multimedia content related to course development, learning, and teaching for the Foster School. This will include: planning, shooting, editing and distribution of media files directly related to course content. Under the direction of the Sr. Computing Specialist the position will collaborate with fellow staff members and instructors in the production of media content in order to meet the curriculum demands and expectations of the Foster School and our various program constituents. This position reports directly to the Sr. Computing Specialist of the Hybrid MBA program. The position is specialized in nature, which involves a heavy focus on video and multimedia content creation and distribution. In addition this position is responsible for conveying the high standards of course material as well as the mission and vision of the both the business school and the University as a whole. The position requires a good understanding of how online media content can create and build a virtual community that embodies the values of the greater University community. This position is required to make technical and independent decisions that will support the creation of new and modification of existing media content for Foster School courses. This includes all aspects of equipment operation, translating written ideas into video or animation elements, and working with instructors to bring their classes to life. Media Production 80% •Setup and operation of video cameras, audio equipment, and portable lighting; this includes but not limited to field cameras, studio operations, chromakeying, microphones, mixers, etc. •Using existing and portable lighting to light remote locations for recording to enhance the space to ensure a high production value final look. •Coaching instructors with on camera performance. •Ingestion of recorded media into Non Linear Edit systems (NLEs) in adherence to the media management policy. •Utilizing NLE and animation software, perform edits and create animations to enhance recorded content. •Work with Faculty and Instructional Designers to edit media content following the course blueprint to ensure each finished media object presents all the relevant material for that piece. •Curating photos and video’s; securing rights for imagery. •Training Instructors on best practices for self created video and audio via personal cameras, or screen capture software such as Camtasia. •Working with the team to, create a production schedule for an assigned course, lead a site survey at a remote location, present new production ideas. Program Technical Support 20% •Meeting with program staff and instructors regarding milestones, scheduling, tools, and media strategy. •Researching and testing of current and potential online learning technologies. •Management of program specific media content using MediaAMP or similar Digital Assent Management Systems. •Perform maintenance on production equipment and studio spaces. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in communications, film, broadcasting and mass communication's, or related field and a minimum of 2-3 years of video production in higher education, non-profit, corporate, or a commercial environment. Demonstrated knowledge of video production workflows in a team environment Ability to work under pressure with minimal direction to meet deadlines of deliverables Proficient to advanced Non-Linear Editing skills with Adobe Creative Suite or Apple Final Cut Pro Desired Qualifications: Experience creating content for online education Experience with multiple projects simultaneously Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe After Effects or Apple Motion Working conditions: Must be able to lift 40lbs Ability to work 2 or more hours while standing Ability to work outside of normal business hours and weekends occasionally when necessary.
