Job Summary:Â
The graphic designer produces high-quality, innovative print and digital design solutions that work to further key University goals including fundraising, student recruitment and prestige enhancement all the while upholding and advancing the Universitys brand. The designer partners with clients across the University providing vision and management of projects and strategies, implementing the universitys visual standards across a wide array of projects. Â
This position will require the individual to work in the office, with the flexibility to also work remotely and meet the requirements of the SLU Remote Staff Flexible Work Policy.
Job Duties:
Designs print and digital materials that reflect the Universitys mission, from concept to completion.
Develops design concepts and presents to colleagues, clients and partners.
Stays current with design trends (both in higher education and beyond) and tools to maintain a high standard of visual execution.
Comfortable working within a project management system for the purpose of tracking key project information and working collaboratively within the division and throughout the University.
Works with university photographer and videographer (and occasionally freelancers) to assist in the coordination of photo/video shoots.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Experience in the development of visual strategy and execution, with a proven track record of success.
Experience in the creation and deployment of effective print and digital communications.
Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud applications with a focus in both print and digital design.
Knowledge of advanced print design skills, including typography, pagination, style sheets, print production, and management of print vendors.
Creative, collaborative and cooperative approach with a strong commitment to high-quality service within a team-oriented setting.
Strong organizational/management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects at once.
Proficient at finding effective design solutions under budget constraints.
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback in a professional manner.
Strong communication skills.
Experience in the creation and deployment of effective print and digital communications â” ranging from multipage print publications to digital ad suites, and more.Â
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in a related field; supplemented with three (3) years of professional experience in conceptualizing, designing, and producing printed/digital communications.
