Description:
Pratt Institute's Communications and Marketing division seeks a staff Photographer/Photo Editor who will be a key member of the Creative Services team. The Photographer/Photo Editor reports to the Photo and Video Production Manager and is responsible for producing photo projects from concept to completion. The position requires a high degree of organizational, collaboration, and communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of the Institute: students, faculty and administration. This full-time position is considered to be hybrid, with the opportunity for remote work and a minimum requirement of 2 days per week of in-person work on our Brooklyn campus. There is occasional travel to our Manhattan campus, along with various shoot locations throughout the New York/Metro area. Hours can be flexible/asynchronous when needed, as there will be evening and weekend assignments.

Job Requirements

• Working closely with Director of Creative services and Photo and Video Production Manager in producing photo assets within communications and marketing strategies.
• Expertise in digital photography and Adobe Creative Suite photo processing and editing.
• Experience with environmental portraiture, editorial, event and landscape photography.
• Maintain editing, processing, retouching, color correcting, and archiving all files in an organized manner.
• Experience establishing and maintaining photo archival systems and best practices.
• Diverse visual style with strong sense of composition.
• Ability to quickly learn new production tools and news shooting styles.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team, independently, and under close direction.
• Demonstrate strong photographic skills to ensure all content meets standards for institutional integrity and production quality.
• Ability to process and deliver images in a timely manner.
• Conduct photo research for a variety of social and website features and departmental projects.
• Able to work independently with good communication skills.
• Knowledge of Google Drive, Google Workspace, Slack and Asana.

Qualifications:

• Expert knowledge of photo production including research, concepting, editing and post-production. At least 2-3 years of professional experience.
• Experience producing photo assets within communications and marketing strategies.
• Detail-oriented with clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, as well in a team situation and with clients, working under pressure, and juggling multiple stages of development are required.
• Familiarity with the Higher Education sector is a plus.

SALARY is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $66,000-70,000.
